Wordpress - Am I Scaring You?

It was Monday morning and I was on a call with a dozen others who are my peers. Each of us helps the small business owner with their businesses in one way or the other. It was at the end of the call and we were each sharing our websites and going over how to make little improvements here and there. Time was running out and there was just enough time for one more website review, I volunteered. As my site was coming up for all to see suddenly the screen turned a maroon red with an outline of a security officer with his hand stretched out and the words of"don't precede malware threat." There was more but I was horrified to recall exactly what it said. I was worried that I had spent hours on being ruined plus humiliated the people on the telephone had seen me vulnerable.

Since scare tactics appear to be what compels some people to take secure your wordpress website a little more seriously, or at least start thinking about the problem, let me shoot a scare tactics your way.

No software system is resistant to vulnerabilities and bugs. Security holes will be found and bad men will do their best to exploit them. I don't think there's a person out there that after learning how much of a problem WordPress hacking is that it's a fantastic idea. However is that when it comes to securing their blogs, bloggers seem to be stuck in this reactive state.

As I (our fictitious Joe the Hacker) Related Site understand, people have far too many usernames and passwords to remember. You've got Twitter, Facebook, your online banking, LinkedIn, two site logins, FTP, web hosting, etc. accounts which all include logins and passwords you need to remember.

There are always going to be risks being online (or even just being alive!) Also it's easy to This Site get caught up in the panic. As soon as we get caught up in redirected here the fear, we put the breaks on. This isn't a fantastic reaction. Take some common sense precautions, then forge ahead. It is going to have to be addressed then, if something does happen and of quaking in your boots 23, no amount will have helped. If nothing does, all is good and you have not made yourself ill with worry.
